Apr 27, 2023

The world premiere of the highly anticipated 2024 Lexus GX took place in grand style, unveiling a remarkable redesign that redefines what it means to be an SUV. The event, presented by Lexus Group VP and General Dejuan Ross, showcased this new flagship model's remarkable features and innovations.

With its first-ever Overtrail grade, boasting standard 33-inch All-Terrain tires and 18-inch wheels, the 2024 Lexus GX demonstrates its readiness to conquer any terrain. Powered by a robust 3.4L twin-turbo V6 engine, generating an impressive 349 horsepower and 479 lb.-ft. of torque, the GX offers exhilarating performance. And for those seeking even greater efficiency, a hybrid powertrain option will be available in the near future.

Safety is at the forefront of the GX's design, with standard Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 providing advanced driver assistance features. Coupled with the intuitive Lexus Interface featuring a 14-inch multimedia touchscreen, the GX ensures a seamless and connected driving experience. Additionally, the SUV boasts an impressive towing capacity of up to 8,000 lbs., further expanding its versatility.

Redesigned from the ground up, the 2024 Lexus GX builds upon its 20-year legacy in the Sport Utility Segment, solidifying its position as a "Sophisticated Utility Vehicle." The GX has always been known for its legendary off-road capability, effortlessly transitioning from everyday city driving to rugged terrains. Mr. Ross expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "The GX is a critical piece in the evolution of the Next Chapter for Lexus, and with new powertrains, premium features, and the all-new Overtrail grade, the 2024 GX has something for everyone."

The exterior design of the all-new GX exudes a commanding presence, blending ruggedness with refined aesthetics. With a square-body profile and a horizontal design motif, the GX showcases its off-road functionality while maintaining a calming and modern interior space. The front fascia featured a bold spindle grille and raised Premium Triple Beam LED headlamps, emphasizing its powerful and confident stance. The GX exudes solidity from the side, thanks to its wide track, increased wheelbase, and distinctive 33-inch tires on the Overtrail grades. The rear continues the assertive styling with a signature unified L-shaped light bar and an updated LEXUS logo.

Step inside the 2024 GX, and you'll find a lush interior designed to enhance the driver's experience. The driver-focused cockpit, reminiscent of the all-new RX, provides excellent visibility and incorporates a lower, horizontal instrument panel design. The available 14-inch Multimedia Touchscreen Display with Lexus Interface technology ensures seamless connectivity while physical dials and controls minimize driver distraction. With seating for up to seven passengers, the GX offers comfort and convenience at every turn, with heated and ventilated seats, ample storage space, and an array of premium features.

Under the hood, the 2024 Lexus GX features a 3.4L twin-turbo V6 engine, delivering improved performance over its predecessor. Paired with a 10-speed Direct Shift Automatic Transmission, the twin-turbo V6 provides smooth and controlled power delivery on and off the road. The GX's towing capacity has also increased to an impressive 8,000 lbs., allowing for effortless trailers or recreational equipment hauling.

Setting a new standard for off-road prowess, the 2024 GX introduces the first-ever Lexus Overtrail grade. As part of the global "Overtrail Project," the Overtrail grade aims to inspire customers.

Introducing the first-ever Lexus Overtrail grade in the redesigned 2024 Lexus GX marks an exciting milestone for the brand. With the Overtrail Project, Lexus aims to inspire customers worldwide to embark on refined natural adventures. The Overtrail grade adds specialized features and styling enhancements to the already tough and rugged GX.

The exterior design of the Overtrail models showcases a striking bi-tone color scheme, including unique combinations such as Earth/Black Roof and Nori Green Pearl/Black Roof. These colors blend harmoniously with nature, creating a cohesive relationship between the vehicle and the great outdoors. The Overtrail grade also boasts 33-inch All-Terrain tires, black accented overfenders, and an aluminum skid plate for added off-road capability.

The Overtrail+ grade goes a step further by offering an exclusive seat design for optimal off-road comfort, including massage seats for the driver and front passenger and a power cushion extender for the driver.

To ensure superior traction on various terrains, the GX Overtrail grades come equipped with advanced systems such as Multi-Terrain Select (MTS), Crawl Control, Downhill Assist Control (DAC), and a 3D Multi-Terrain Monitor. The Electronic-Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (E-KDSS) improves wheel articulation, while the electronic locking rear differential, exclusive to the Overtrail grade, maximizes traction.
