An Absen K Plus display has been installed as the videowall backdrop for a popular chat show on Belgian TV.
The 3.2-million-pixel display delivers content to complement debates on late-night panel discussion De Tafel Van Vier, which is filmed at filmed at the Play Zuid TV studio in Antwerp.
The screen was supplied and installed by visual experience design and production company, Painting With Light, working closely with Van Domburg Partners.
The LED distributor recommended the Absen K Plus series, as it would be able to provide a high-quality display to the in-studio and remote broadcast audience, while remaining within the TV station's limited budget.
Painting With Light conducted a series of camera tests and found the displays performed well, with no flicker and ideal colour replication
The installation required a 10m by 2m 4K LED wall to display still images, animated graphics and video playback. A refresh rate of up to 3840Hz enables the camera to capture the content displayed with no scan lines, ensuring picture quality is the not comprised.
The Absen K Plus series offers fine adjustment greyscale technology, even under low brightness, allowing it to perfectly display details in dark areas of the picture.
Michiel Vanderhenst, Painting With Light's technical designer, says: "The LED wall was mounted on a custom-made wooden wall structure.
"Absen's new floating connector allowed for a cable-free connection between the module and panel. This helped us while working with the wooden structure, as we didn't have any additional loose elements interfering with our delicate work. It was much easier to make sure each step was completed with precision."
Laurens De Baere, account manager at Van Domburg Partners, says: "We faced the challenge of needing to provide a high-quality product that met the studio's budget and was immediately available. Our long-standing relationship with Absen meant familiarity with the products and knowledge that they can achieve incredible on and off-camera performance at a competitive price point."
